Impressions:

Yawn. Very dull episode. The second part was probably the best of the lot, but it was still fairly uninspired. Squid’s hat started twitching and everybody, herself included, tried to figure out what the hell it was doing. Of course, this was about the only part of the episode that involved slapping characters around too. Like most of the jokes in this show though, they continued to be telegraphed a mile away without doing anything but the most formulaic punchline possible. Surprise me, damn it. The show is only cute enough to carry itself on the same four facial expressions when the Mini-Squid is involved.

The first part was Squid getting sick and demanding shrimp before she died, so Eiko did pun schtick for her. The highlight of humor, repeated puns. Sigh. The third part was seven minutes of umbrella jokes. I wish they had taken the little parody segment and run with it instead of had almost 3-4 minutes of people using umbrellas while Squidhead went "Ooooooooooh." But no. 20 seconds of RoboEiko vs Umbrella sword is all we get, then it’s back to "Umbrellas… Holy crap, man!"

Zakuro’s going to be a bit delayed. I have a meeting that I have to leave for in thirty minutes and then the usual brush with academia after that.
