Invasion! Squid Girl #07 — Silk, Silk, Silk

Impressions:
Very weak episode. The first bit was Nagisa sleeping over at their house and after witnessing Squidhead being completely non-threatening the entire time and getting dragged off for playing video games in the middle of the night, loses her fear for approximately 20 seconds before the status quo is restored. The last part was Eiko essentially kidnapping the old Squid impersonator for her breasts and shipping Squid off to go work in her place. Squid then proceeds to… just stand on stage doing her squid things. Ambitious and creative, it was not.
The second part was a little better than the other two, but it was pretty much just a rehash of the first Cindy episode with a few new generic scientist characters that I’m sure we’ll never see again making jokes out of the first grader’s playbook. It’s funny because… they’re scientists? At least they narrowly managed to avoid any knock knock jokes. And Squid For Brains decided to be the lady of the beach this time instead of an alien… but at the start instead of the end. It was still probably the height of the episode. Beach chair throne pun fully intended.

The first part was funny, especially when she tried to conquer a plate. With the scientists they could make something better of it. Ika on stage was not bad – when she started playing the drums I imagined she’ll play fuwa fuwa time :)
