The Legend of the Legendary Heroes #16 — I Am Rubber
October 21st, 2010
At some point, they’re going to have to have an actual monster to make all this name calling work.
Impressions:
I’d call this a plotty epsode if so much of it wasn’t painfully obvious from the first couple episodes. The only really new thing is Ferris’ background with a family tradition of… keeping it in the family, let’s say… and being giant dicks until Lucille decided to kill them. The rest… eh. Most of it is just people learning new and interesting reasons to call Lyner a monster. Perhaps it’d have more impact if they hadn’t been saying it the entire show. "I know we said you’re a monster before… a dozen times before… but now you’re really monster!" Yeah. You never convinced me that the alpha stigma were all that evil to begin with, and now you’re trying to sell that because he doesn’t die after it goes berserk, he’s even more evil? Guess who’s not buying that for a moment.
Nothing else of note other than a lot of name calling. Lucille and Lyner met, both called each other inhuman monsters, and then Milk simultaneously invited Lyner to her faux-birthday party and gave him a letter from Luke about his evilness. Lyner should have been able to put up more of a fight against Lucille too. He went down like a pathetic little kid. Also, Milan is looking entirely too jealous of Lyner wandering out of Sion’s room in his bed clothes. I both hope and dread some kind of bizarre revenge plan targeted against Milk next week. Poor girl never gets a break.

So much for the birthday party.

Woah, Lucille looks so crazy there with all those blood on him and he acts as if it’s only red paint. That’s kind of awesome and freaky.
