I don’t like that look Touma has.

Impressions:

An okay episode. I would have preferred them to do a lot more with Saji than make him go down to a fake-out Touma-Styl magical powerup attack and then a couple faces to the crotch, but at least there was some action this week. Amakusa’s forces in general went down a little too easily for my tastes, especially after Saji appeared by throwing Styl through a house. They could have used the time to build up the nuns as dangerous for their move into the antagonist camp a little more instead of making bad jokes about Touma having curious urges that indicate his testicles briefly considering the prospect of descending.

Other than that, it was a little dull. Yet another one of those "Thanks for helping us save the girl. PS, don’t talk to the enemy, they’ll tell you we want to eat her. Now off to fight a bunch of nuns!" Because Japan is incapable of creating any media where Western religion doesn’t secretly want to kill you. Touma with Orsola dragged on particularly, especially given that they were supposed to be in the middle of a huge battle. And Touma had tripped over a tool box and fought one of the not 15 seconds prior. Just one of those time distortions that Index falls prey to, I suppose.  Index also managed to make herself useful by… spelljacking a couple floating bags. The exploding and reforming wheel used by the manhater is a bit of a more interesting weapon. Or at least it would be if it didn’t only barely inflict a couple superficial wounds when used against an unsuspecting target at close range. Hopefully they’ll work on that.
