The Blessing of La Campanella #08 — Bloody Omega Killer Special

August 20th, 2010

I really had to fight to not make a menstruation joke here. ……crap.

Impressions:

A very nice little episode. Even the obligatory fanservice felt like they made half an effort to actually weave it into the plot (such as it is) instead of tossing in someone humping Leicester in the last 15 seconds. Plus, a new OP for the episode and they skipped most of the ED again. This show may not be that visually impressive, but unlike many other things I can name, its production certainly has never flagged. Plus it was finally an episode about the Tortilla sisters. I don’t really care much for Salsa, but Ritos’ cleverness and teasing and their golem are both delights. The tagline at the end about what good sisters they are was definitely heavy handed, but like most of this series, they didn’t dwell on the drama long enough for it to get annoying.

They only made a couple brief nods to the plot this week, mostly just saying that Minette needs a bodyguard while Creepy Uncle Nick loomed over them. Most of it was just the Tortillas roaming around through their various jobs. Ritos and Garnet tagteaming Salsa at the museum about the ‘cursed’ ruby was probably the high point, but it was pretty good throughout. The golem did seem a little more into Leicester than usual, which raises all kinds of questions… mostly physics based. The girls also made it an actual contest for once with the swimsuits. Minette’s the clear loser, lacking hip sunglasses or a sarong, but after that… well… it’s a tossup.

Okay, ready… and… be generic!

I like food. I like gals. I like silliness. It should be a match made in heaven, but somehow I get the nagging feeling that Aroduc is pulling the wool over my eyes.

Is the golem pulling a naked apron?
