So… where’s the hot springs?

Impressions:

It wasn’t a horrible episode, but Yamada and The Claw were pretty much the saving graces. Why Yamada wasn’t the main character from the start is baffling. Hell, she only even got added to the OP in various places this week. The Claw has yet to earn its spot in the OP apparently, but now that it’s been shown to be a protector of public order and useful for taking misandrists out for walks so that they don’t mess all over the sidewalk, I have every belief that it will take its rightful place in the OP next week. If a future episode has her hooking up with The Claw in some kind of torrid love affair, or perhaps her adopting it as her younger brother, then this show might actually rise to something beyond a cheap way to fill 20 minutes on Sundays.

As for the rest… meh. It was a hot springs episode about not hot springs. How that works is beyond me. We didn’t even get any ping pong. Hell, the only thing even vaguely related to it being at a hot springs were the interstitials, and even that’s stretching it. Everything that didn’t have Yamada front and center had Inami, and my feelings on her are already well documented as it is. The Claw missed its golden opportunity to throw her off the bridge in the middle of her sob spiel. I guess it’s not perfect after all.

Wow, that’s some seriously heavy-duty grip strength he has there. I mean, have you ever tried to hold something heavy with a claw? It’s damn hard even with the better ones.

I dunno about anyone else, but I think the hand-claw-holding walk is a brilliant gag.

Like I expected, Yamada was pretty nice in her minor role status. She works well with Poplar. I think shes best in small doses. Then again her backstory might be good enough for a major role in this show so Im not too sure about that.

The claw didnt enough air time and for that am sad.

Inami ruined any chance for possible Poplar hot springs based fanservice (or for anyone else) cause of her “curfew” and for that, I am quite upset. She’s really good at sucking the fun out of this show.

    Inami = Enemy

Next episode should be that “Trapanashi” arc I heard about.

“ruined any chance for possible Poplar hot springs based fanservice”

This may be the first good thing Inami has done in eight episodes.

  • Chen says:

Almost lost to dried plums. That’s harsh even for Inami.

I wish the claw had thrown Kyouko off a bridge. That or show her gain body mass just so I can point and laugh. Her food obsession and unwillingness to do anything but eating are getting old.

  • Aex says:

Didn’t realize it last time, but Yamada’s VA is Ryou Hirohashi!! She’s already an awesome character, but that makes her twice as awesome!! That car scene was pretty hilarious too.

I’m in agreement with everyone, the Claw really is a force to be reckoned with. Stopping a punch in mid-swing from the back? The hell is that thing made of? And is it just me, or are they really pushing a Takanashi x Inami relationship? Though if those two got serious, I think Nazuna might just kill Inami…

  • Pozzy says:

I feel cheated. How can they do the stereotype hot spring setup and then NOT have the ecchi scenes and/or ping pong?

    IT’S A TRAP

If Aroduc was writing this show, that probably would have been episode 2.

  • Lauren says:

The claw is the best character on this show, besides Poplar.

  • Albedo says:

    Takanashi X Inami

    I can only dream.

The claw seems to have won the first few matches but Inami’s androphobia is out for blood.

  • Yue says:

There should have been an Initial D sequence between Satou~san and Kyoka~san. XD

i’m really trying to like inami…but…i really can’t…

i wish they at least give poplar some focus…i think it wont hurt the show right?

i know many people are fond of inami’s androphobia, but how about the remaining people who are not fond and amused by it?

oh well…will just patiently wait what will happen in the next remaining episodes…
