Hidamari Sketch ×☆☆☆ #07 — Fasion 911

Dayum, girls.

Impressions:

Man. This episode was cheap. Really cheap. The recycled footage was bad enough, but I think a full 10% of the episode may have been comprised of those two shots of the girls sitting around the table. The first half was mostly centered around Nazuna Nazna, and I’ve already made my opinion on her abundantly clear. If Yuno’s the hamster of Hidamari, I’d hate to think what that makes Nazna. What on earth is below a hamster? A naked mole rat? Chika provided a little bit of amusement, but the whole kabuki bit felt more like a rehash of the previous jokes about it than anything new.

I’ll also be honest, I spent more of the second half gaping at the clothes they picked out than paying attention. You would think art students would have a better sense of style. Miyako’s overalls are forgiveable since she’s a hayseed anyway, and both Yuno and Chika pass, but the rest… ugh. Nori looks like she was going for the butch lesbian look. Flannel is never in. Nazna’s outfit looks like it belongs on a 1920s vineyard. Sae might have made the sports jacket work if she didn’t have the giant necklace that the artists couldn’t keep a constant length, and the less said about Hiro’s giant froofy clown collar, the better. Paint that thing red, and she’s ready for the circus.

Don’t see that everyday the Yoshi full body pan, I mean.

  • Haesslich says:

Ah, it’s the crab fried rice episode next. And more Yoshinoya-sensei figure. :D

One thing to note – it’s kinda scary how they get Kugumiya Rie to do the Chika thing as a… normal girl, rather than her usual roles, then they go out and make her bustier than the rest of her usual roles put together. And Sae, for that matter.

Also, your ignoring Yoshinoya-sensei in bloomers is unforgiveable.
