For an inanimate object, Yuuto gets a lot of action this week.

Impressions:

A pretty solid episode, but I think it would have been a bit more impressive if I hadn’t seen that ‘Hardcore’ promo a couple weeks back. Almost all of the action in this episode was in that promo, so… it’s a little bit hard to be all that impressed. There were also a few direction issues this week. The scoring remained as haphazard as it as been for the show’s entire run, but the reuse of some tunes was especially noticeable this week. They could have also divided up the action and angsty Himari scenes a little better.  "Himari licking herself, FIRE, EXPLOSIONS, BERSERKER MODE, Himari feeling herself up in the shower, EXPLOSIONS." You’ve got to wonder if whoever was in charge of the storyboard wasn’t drunk.

As always though, and I feel like a broken record, they’re moving pretty much everything right along. I made fun of it a little bit last week when they revealed that Himari wasn’t the girl in Yuuto’s memories and then immediately had another girl show up within almost minutes, but they got the reveal that Ques is Yuuto’s old flame out of the way within minutes of the episode beginning. Himari in happy-cat mode was also rather adorable. And no, Yuuto gets no credit for accidentally kissing her on the lips and then crying about it. I’m not accepting allergy as a possible excuse either. I choose to believe that he was so traumatized by it that it reduced him to tears. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
