KIDDY GiRL-AND #09 — Attack of the 80 Foot Bishie
December 10th, 2009
Oh god, run for your lives!
Impressions:
An episode that I’m sure sounds better than it actually ended up being. While there was a lot of action, and G Society took out Trixie and TJ, the animation and music this week was pretty awful. Well, to be fair, the animation was just average to poor, which given the other episodes in this show, counts as awful. They forgot to animate Tweedledee’s lightning in one shot, Trixie’s entire body was vibrating while Ascouer was crying on it, Ruby’s nail sword somehow became a giant red stripe, etc. It looked tacky at best, and awful at worst. And the music… Ugh. Trixie and TJ were stabbed, and then spent the next four minutes dying, with the entire thing accompanied by a single mournful viola. Ouch.
Thankfully, in a rarity this season, the villains here made a pretty respectable showing for themselves… outside of the 80 foot image of Tuxedo Mask. It’s a little disappointing that Letuchie and Pauk seem to have the same power, but at least they could take out… uh… a defensive ES member with a crossbow… with help from two other people. The Tweedles were also unexpectedly inept against probably the weakest group of the G-Society (given that Asouer and Q managed to go toe to toe with them), but Trixie and TJ cleaned house until Tuxedo Mask one-shot them. I’m not ready to call them dead yet, what with this series’ love of putting people into new bodies, but at least we got to see them actually use their abilities (space distortion and solidification respectively). I’d assume that Ascouer and Q would inherit their mechs, but apparently next week is going to be about Dia wandering around on her own, so… uh… yeah.

And now, Dia’s day out.

YES! DIA’S BIG DAY OUT! That’s what I wanted to watch. How good of a time on the town can a 7 year old have? Will it be ice cream and a ride on a Ferris wheel? Stay TUNED!
