A Certain Scientific Railgun #06 — Thought Police
November 6th, 2009
Yawn.
Impressions:
Another fillertastic garbage episode about Mikoto’s first day as a member of Judgment where she learns how hard it really is to be a janitor and the morality police. And she saves a little girl’s bag from getting wet. I mean, hell, can you imagine if she had failed? That bag would have… gotten wet. That would have just been a total disaster. Can you imagine? It’s a good thing that she electrocuted that dog in the middle of a bunch of kids too, not to mention blowing up a lightpole. Ya think detonating things 20 feet from a bunch of kids might be a bad idea? Naaaah.
You can safely skip right to the ED and miss nothing at all but a lot of janky animation and a little foreshadowing about what I assume is the antagonist coming up, who leaves imploding stuffed dolls in random places. That only really showed itself in the first 10 seconds, about 30 seconds in the middle of the episode, and a minute after the ED. At least the bomber took out a Judgment member even if they weren’t targetted particularly. Still not worth sitting through the other 21 minutes, but maybe somebody actually relevant will get blown up next week. Then again, some apparent shut-in bullied internet nerd who leaves bombs in random places isn’t exactly my idea of a particularly compelling antagonist. Even Saten could take him without breaking a sweat.
Preview:
Gee. I wonder who the bomber could be.

Kuroko should wear her hair down more often.
