Fate/EXTRA Announced

As much as I don’t really like posting little news blurbs, I think that after BMW, I’m more or less all-in on this Type/Moon nonsense. Niinou (Etrian Odyssey, 7th Dragon) is going to be producing a dungeon crawler action RPG based on an alternate universe for Fate/Stay Night for the PSP with Nasu and Takeuchi doing the writing. It is a little strange though… after letting Fate just sort of languish for about 4 years, we’ve suddenly had an explosion of stuff, from Unlimited Codes to the upcoming UBW movie. Ah well, who am I to complain? Although Rin with a garter belt, high heels, and whatever those glove-sleeve things are called fills me with all sorts of conflicting thoughts. Saber’s newfound seethrough dress also makes one wonder how anybody could have confused her for a man. At least Lancer isn’t getting any straighter looking as time goes on.

      I accept everything except Saber’s seethrough dress. That seems kind of… Slutty (I think that’s the word I’m looking for) for a girl like her.

      Also, Mari made me actually care about Eva, so any other changes are completely passable in my book.

      what do you mean another one? You didn’t expect alternate universes from a franchise that started out with 3 completely separate plots that created the foundations for several spin-off plots? Where have you been?
      There’s a manga about Illyasviel being a stereotypical magical girl (with an ecchi twist) for god’s sake! Open your eyes man! It’s Fate/Stay Night we’re talking about!!

    Hope fans accept this. This instance is similar with how the new Eva movies got some harsh comments for “changing/ruining” many elements from the original TV series.

    Shance> Yeah, you have the choice of creating a male or female Master for Saber. Notice the 主人公女 and 主人公男 kanji beside them (“shujinkou onna” and “shujinkou otoko” respectively).

    Oh, and I haven’t forgotten about the BMW exe translation. I’ve just been stuck up with junk to do. D:

    Hey…Did anyone notice that that red Saber appears with a different name? It reads “Savant” or something like that…

      You might have figured this out by now, but that actually says “servant”. Most likely meaning she hasn’t stated her class at that point in the game.

      Anyways, this looks pretty cool. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. But I’m also curious as to who that new Rider is. :/

    I heard some rumours going around the net that this Saber isnt Arturia and that this Saber is Mordred…which would probably explain her considerable bust increase and her strange fashion sense..

    And Lancer looks like Tron

    I can’t wait for this to be released~ I never really like Shirou, so it’s a relief to be able to play as an Aoko-lookalike main female~ It actually looks like this has potential for getting released stateside, too. Also, I’m doubting that the new Saber is Arturia, as her weapon is visible, and it’s completely different from Excalibur.
