Yeah… I probably should have written this before I went to sleep and forgot all of it.

Not-so Impressions:

I’m almost a little hesitant to even post this because I only sort of half watched it late last night while chatting with the incredible disappearing blogger and dealing with some other somewhat weird stuff. The point is, this episode made about zero impression on me and some 10 hours later after a full night’s sleep, I remember even less of it. A lot of it was a mix and mash of things that they’ve skipped before and things that they made up on the spot just to get back to the point where they could go back a long long time ago (in a galaxy far far away).

Unfortunately, that did mean that there was absolutely no interesting spiritual stuff or demons or whathaveyou, just a piece of paper leading to a mirror leading to a key leading to a box leading to something around 18 months old… and if you aren’t keeping up with the Clone Saga on the TRC side of things, then about a third of the episode will be a total wash. The perspectives during that scene were, however, a bit strange. Sakura was sitting on a branch, and there were branches below her as well, but Watanuki was just standing upright as if everything was perfectly normal. I guess chalk it up to "it was a dream." Watanuki’s scene at the very end about still wanting to do his best with Yuuko was rather nice at least, but almost everything else was about as cookie cutter as it comes.
