Warring Era BASARA #10 — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

June 3rd, 2009

Repeat ad nauseam.

Impressions:

Yawn.  Perhaps if they hadn’t spent around 75% of the episode rehashing last week from every single goddamned different little group’s point of view, this episode would have been a little more palatable. To the surprise of only the most gullible, neither Kenshin nor Shingen are dead. Just KOed for an episode or two so that they can most likely return in the big finale to save Kasuga/Yukimura’s tail from Nobunaga and form the Mega-Basarazord and then dance off into the stars… or am I getting this confused with Space Channel 5 again? As it was though, this week was lame in just about every sense of the word and only really worth watching if you’ve completely forgotten what happened last week and want to hear every single character repeat it. At least Sasuke stepped it up and slapped a bitch.

What ever happened to monkey-boy and his family anyway?

  • The Phantom says:

I watched half of this episode and it was so lame, with all the due respect to those that like it, this anime is garbage. Man SO MANY bad series this season: cough tayutama cough basara cough saki cough basquash cough k-on cough aradsenki cough guinsaga cough ristorante cough cough, last season there was toradora, xam’d, clannad, garei, index, gundam 00, vampire knight, kurozuka, chaos head, shikabane hime, tales of abyss… I had to skip sleep hours to watch all those series, but how many good shows do we get this season? : requiem of the phantom, regios, asura cryin, cross game and pandora hearts? thats all? so few quality shows this season…

With respect to the previous poster, it’s all a matter of taste. I found Ristorante Paradiso okay (I like Slice of Life-ish shows), and I find it amusing that Eden of the East WASN’T mentioned (it’s easily the best show this season in many aspects).

Basara has it’s charm as well, if you’re in for over-the-top antics. Plus, it has Norio Wakamoto.
