I have no idea what was up with the raws this week. Just… don’t ask.

Impressions:

It seems like I say this every week, but that doesn’t make it any less true: Another soporific first half followed by a relatively exciting second. Being stabbed in the gut must have been on sale, because JC Staff was using it like it was going out of style. Not one, not two, not three, but four sucking gut wounds and deaths. Alright, so the two mazoku whose names I never bothered to remember probably barely count, and I’m not sure Abel is much above them (although his death was particularly bloody for normal Slayers faire), but at least Zuuma is relatively important. Of course, after having both arms chopped off with a Ragna Blade, I don’t think he was really that much of a threat anymore, but that doesn’t make Xellos any less badass for it.

To the shock of nobody really, Radok is Zuuma, and has some sort of generic sob story about his wife/Abel’s mother being sacrificed for one of the various demon overlord thingies and then him turning evil out of general whatsit. Rezo’s power is also responsible for Zuuma’s arm tricks and ability to summon the mazoku he proceeded to essentially eat. Amelia and Zel actually were about to be killed by those two when they were pulled away, but at least Amelia’s bizarrely swelling breasts in the month of hair tentacle rape can get some well needed rest as we save up for them reviving Rezo’s power from the pot next week.
