Impressions:

Bundled with the final DVD of Sekirei is a short little 10 minute OVA about Kusano deciding that she wants to take part in Musubi and Tsukiumi’s daily competitions since she’s a ‘wife’ too. What follows is essentially the plot of Baby’s Day Out, or if you prefer to kick it old school, Baby Boomer, complete with overwhelming firepower to lead the mentally inept charge, if the NES Zapper could ever be considered overwhelming. Machop and Squirtle shepherded Bulbasaur around town with overwhelming force directed mainly at cats and pavement before taking a bath and reminding us forcefully that yes, indeed, this is a DVD and not a terrestrial broadcast. Kuu was as cute as ever, Minato was completely marginalized, and the gratuitous bath scene was exceptionally gratuitous. Ten minutes of total fluff, but it made me remember the happy times of Sekirei, so mission accomplished, completely extraneous DVD special.
