Slayers Evolution-R #03 — Barely Legal Sister in Sister XXX Action

January 26th, 2009

Hot.

Impressions:

Eh, an alright episode I suppose, but I really want them to get back to the plot. I like Amelia. I like Nama. I don’t mind watching them screw around, but we’ve got a lot of ground to cover here, assuming the OP isn’t just a huge pack of lies at any rate. Even if it isn’t, there’s still an evil shadow ninja, a robot mage, and Rezo all out there to take down. It’d be nice if we at least got some glimpse of them.

Aaaaaaaaaanyway, more general filler, though less amusing than the dullahan episode last week. Just a lot of Naga and Amelia chaos. If Nama isn’t Naga, then I think I’ll break somebody’s neck. With all the talk of family and Phil (still waiting for a Pacifist Punch from the man himself…), they’re really laying it on pretty thick. I’m happy that Poko hasn’t had more than four or five lines an episode for the season. Hopefully they’ll stick with that trend, or at the very least, not bring back the dread liontaur. Unfortunately, unless the mermaids are somehow connected to Rezo, next week looks like more of the same. Of course, I don’t know that I’d expect greatness from an episode entitled "Quality Time."

Lina’s getting sick of hiking through the mountains. Even Nama is feeling the strain and collapses. She gets slapped by Lina for it and loses her head. Amelia plays peace keeper and Lina storms off. Amelia returns Nama’s head to her and the two share a tender moment over Amelia’s kindness. Nama gains additional PAWAA from Amelia’s tenderness and psyches herself up.

A strong gust of wind kicks up and dark clouds surround the mountain. A flash flood bears down on them. Gourry, Lina, and Zelgadis hop up to safety, but Amelia is frozen in panic. She and Nama are taken by the flood.

When Amelia comes to, she’s inside of… Nama. After screaming in panic, Nama tells her to quiet down and tells Amelia what happened. She stuffed the drowning Amelia inside her and tried to leap out to safety, but was knocked back down and swept away.

Nama’s fired up again, but not quite used to moving around with Amelia inside and falls over. She tries to figure out how to take herself apart, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Nama even tries to pull her head off, but Amelia’s crammed in there pretty well and is thoroughly stuck.

Working together, they manage to clumsily walk along. Amelia’s getting hungry and wants to find Lina. Concentration gone, they fall over again. Amelia loses her temper and wants to just use magic to signal the others, but when she tries to cast a fireball, it detonates inside Nama and rockets them upward. They plummet off the mountain even further down.

A boy trying to fish drags them out of the river.

Lina and the others search around for them. They find a Nama imprint in the ground.

In a village, Namelia is being treated to dinner by an elder. He tells her Namelia tries to drink the boiling hot soup, but the clumsiness kicks in and she pours it all over herself. After converting to a straw, she takes a good look at the idyllic village.

Amelia tells Nama about her amazing father et all. Nama remembers her own father as something of an idiot. Amelia’s amazed that Nama remembered something, but Nama doesn’t really know anything more.

Namelia tries to sew to help out the villagers. Nama kicks it into high gear, only to tangle them up in thread.

Bandits rush into the city, but Nama is waiting on top of a weathervane for them. Amelia gives her heroic speech, but Nama fails her on the heroic posing. A coin falls from one of the bandit’s bags, and Nama immediately takes an interest, nearly breaking Amelia’s neck in the process. They tumble off the building.

They’re now relegated to lawn mowing.

It’s going okay until a grasshopper gets inside of Nama and sends them both into a frenzy, decimating the village. The elder declares them a devil.

Outside, Namelia is tuckered out by the panic. Nama’s only slightly apologetic. The village bell rings in alarm behind them. There’s a dragon.

Namelia rushes back to the village, where they’re discussing the validity of the dragon warning. A hunter is absolutely certain of the legendary monster.

Amelia thinks that she might have an idea of who it really is… The elder keeps going on about the CRAZY DRAGON THAT TERRORIZES THINGS. The villagers all collapse in tears. This is the end!

Namelia takes on the challenge. They’ll face the dragon. The village immediately erupts in song and dance for their heroine and send her off. They’re all actually just happy to see her go. Dragon… schmagon. They just wanted to get rid of her.

Lina and crew keep searching the mountains. They’ve heard about the dragon too, but probably just rumors. Coincidentally, Lina trips over… a giant dragon footprint.

Nama starts panicking when they find a snake. She wants to run away, but Amelia says that they have to stick to their duty. The two fight for control of the body.

Eventually, they settle down. Amelia tells Nama that her father would definitely face the fight. Ever since her mother died, her father raised her, and taught her the techniques of love. And pacifist punches. And justice. That’s why Amelia can’t leave her heart of justice behind.

Nama is touched by Amelia’s story. They hear something and the dragon appears in front of them.

Rumors of its size have been greatly exaggerated. Nama pokes at it until it runs off in tears. Amelia thinks that it must have a father or mother nearby.

Right on cue, the real dragon appears. They try to run, but fall over. Nama’s reached her limit. The dragon attacks, but they roll out of way. Amelia realizes that Nama’s KOed and she’s got full control.  She jumps up to attack, but the dragon bats her away with a log. Amelia falls, but the power of justice burns strong and she gets ready to attack again. She charges forward, but Nama comes to and they trip again. Nama tries to crawl away, but Amelia will have none of that.

Their two hearts are finally as one and they ready to fight together. The dragon attacks and forces them to run. They turn and take its attacks head-on. They jump up and prepare to face it face to face. A flare arrow shoots out of nowhere and blasts the dragon in the face. Lina apologizes for being late. Namelia yells at her to butt out. This is their fight.

They leap forward, perfectly in concert and attack it, combining their powers and bringing Zel to tears at their harmony. Even Gourry’s fired up, while Lina’s completely dismissive.

Namelia kicks the dragon in the face and CRUSHES the dragon’s head.

Zel’s really in tears now at Nama’s technique. The dragon falls. A screw pops out of Nama and her armor pops open, letting Amelia escape. They do a victory high five.

Later, Lina’s annoyed at the time they spent searching for them, but Nama and Amelia are now an inseperable and unbeatable team. Lina says in that case, she’ll leave it to them and runs off. Three more dragons show up from around the corner.

The village is rebuilding when Nama and Amelia come racing through in panic with the dragons raining destruction in their wake.
