A Certain Magical Index #10 — Send In The Clones
December 6th, 2008
Don’t bother, they’re here.
Impressions:
Alright, now we’re cooking with gas here. Electrical storms, teleporting lolis (you’re not Aoi or Mio!), sniping with tank rifles, and Accelerator blowing off people’s arms. That’s the way things should be. I find it a little amusing that Touma is more intent on the difference between Mikoto’s and Misaka’s panties than he is by Misaka’s giant eyes and lack of pupils, but honestly… it’s about time he showed at least cursory interest in girls. Let’s not forget that he’s received frilly pink envelopes from Stiyl as many times as he’s been mounted and beaten by Index.
…Getting off message here…
It honestly wasn’t the most exciting of episodes, and the animation through the start was… unnatural at best. It settled down pretty quickly though and just went off into the especially bizarre facial expression territory. Thankfully, the content was about 95% less technobabble and nonsense about vampires and whatnot than usual. Frankly, a lot of the start was sort of half recap as Touma tried to figure out who this crazy electrical chick was that he has no memory of beating up. A fair chunk in the middle seemed a bit unneeded too, especially Index and Himegami. I’m just glad Misaka electrocuted the cat, even if the end result was in the cat’s favor.
So, a step back from last week’s imagine breaker dragon arm funtimes, but a much much much much stronger setup for the fun to come with Accelerator.
Preview:
I don’t think that fight is going well for Misaka.
