New Season Disclaimer:

I’ll make a post for almost all new series (barring sequels) with a wrap-up and bullet point opinion of each once the premier week is over. Remember that these are just my kneejerk reactions to the first 20 minutes of shows, many of which in genres that I don’t even particularly like, but I do believe in giving every new series at least an episode to interest me.

Impressions:

Oh Sunred… Sunred, Sunred, Sunred… what are we going to do with you? I guess I just hadn’t realized quite what this really was. Apparently it’s sort of like Japan’s answer to Frisky Dingo, though I’m sure it predates Killface et all by at least a couple years. A superhero and a completely incompetent villain in modern times just sort of existing. The OP (which I can’t rip, sorry… massive A/V desync issues) is the most animated part withtheentire thing looking like it was animated in Flash, and honestly, it probably was.

It certainly has the absurdist angle down, but I don’t really like any of Adult Swim’s block that are pretty much the exact same thing as this, only with heavy metal, super heroes, or… I don’t even know what they’re spewing out anymore instead of sentai jokes. I wouldn’t even be surprised if this showed up on it sooner or later. Maybe if you enjoy those, you’ll like this, but well… meh. It’s the same as them… only with the added bonus of a language barrier. Oh boy.
