The Ruler of Nabari #14 — It’s Hino Satoshi Day

Still watching him too.
Impressions:
I got about 75% through this episode (right here to be exact) and decided that I’d rather watch ZnT and come back to this later. That actually turned out to be a mistake because the episode got pretty interesting at that point. I’m probably being unfair because it was a very good episode all around, just the middle part where Swashbuckler Ninja sat down and shared his evil plans with the gang was dragging on and I assumed that was how the rest of the episode would go. Instead, Yukimi threw an exploding pen and Kouichi went berserk on the guy since he was planning to kill Miharu. Thanks to Kumohira’s "killing is bad!" attitude and trying to restrain Kouichi, the poor kid got shot. Way to use your morals to get your student shot, Kumohira. At the same time, Miharu woke up from his poisoning and went into full-on AllNature mode for the first time since I think episode 1. Now this is what I like to see.
Like I said, the rest of the episode was pretty good too. The Yoite and Miharu sparks were flying a bit much at times. Hell, when Miharu was hit with a poisoned knife, he just happened to fall right on top of Yoite while hugging him. Slash fiction fantasy come true. Of course, all the other tender looks and lovings. Yoite was also a bit more incompetent than usual, or maybe I’m just not taking the trio of school girls seriously enough. The loli with the handclaws… yeah… she frightens me. She’s got that special kind of crazy loli look in her eyes that I don’t think I’ve seen since the pill popping crazy in Burn Up Scramble (wow, there’s a series that we haven’t heard from in a long time). The tubby one who just tackles people and the one with the slingshot though? Come on ,Yoite, you should be able to take both of them down without even breaking a sweat.
It was still an all around solid episode, the likes of which we haven’t seen for awhile and Miharu is finally going to go All-Nature on someone’s face. Finally. How terrible can this power be if you never use it to horribly maim anybody?
Preview:
Let’s blow this damn school up already.

That tubby ninja reminds me to much of all the lazy, selfish, overbearing coworkers I have had in my life. (Needless to say I watched the part where Yoite used Kira on her twice.)
That Yoite/Miharu scene was just to touching to joke about, but then they kinda remind me of people I know too.
