The Children vs The Adults — Talent Doesn’t Pay

Voice Actress Cover                                               Actual OP

If you’ve been paying attention to the singles release scene, you’ll know that the ED for ZKC came with a cover of the OP done by the VAs. Amazingly, despite what you’d think, thanks to them overselling it and trying entirely too hard. They kill the emotion and add operatic warbling vibratto. Great OPs for your hot blooded superhero squads rely on burning souls, buckets of emotion, and overflowing energy in general. It’s a shame that the highly commercialized VAs, for all their talent, couldn’t bring any of that to the table while the preteens managed it just fine. Makes you wonder about the VAs sometimes…

6 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

I was underwhelmed by the VA’s rendition of the OP. It sounded as if they were trying to make it sound less childish, but ended up being very plain. I don’t think it’s bad bad, but I think they got the wrong approach.

Then again, the OP is perfect for children voices.

    “DAITAN!”

  • Gil says:

Can you clarify what’s going on here?

Who’s singing the vid with the cover?

  • Dangan says:

whoa! who are all those kids singing the opening? future Hannah Montana(s) ha ha. I don’t think so.

  • Aroduc says:

    Gil,
Aya Hirano (Kaoru), Haruka Tomatsu (Shiho) and Ryoko Shiraishi (Aoi).

  • Shippoyasha says:

I have to disagree here. Yes, I’d have preferred a more ‘innocent’ and childish way of singing it since it’d sound more genuine, but I thought the singles came out alright. I think it’s good in their own ways.

  • selkirk says:

Meh, I got used to the OP cover by the seiyuu. Maybe I’d prefer the version by the Karen Girls if the video wasn’t so loli.
