Rental Magica #18 — Mousse on the Loose
February 10th, 2008
I refuse to believe that he doesn’t turn into a duck when wet.
Impressions:
Despite the presence of loli Addie in the first few seconds of the episode, this ended up being pretty much entirely a Mousse Sekiren episode where Daphne and he hunted down one of Goetia’s rogue mages who had become some kind of super sayajin cougarman or something. That was quite a bit of action in the episode, as fitting of someone as great as Mousse Sekiren, but most of it was… not of the highest animated quality aside from the final exchange of blows between Gaara and Mousse Sekiren, which I ripped below.
While I approve of a Sekiren episode, it was a little weird to have an episode with none of the main cast aside from about 10 seconds of Itsuki training and loli Addie at the start. I guess we also saw Addie in a flashback or two about Goetia along the way, but it still felt like a somewhat different show without people riding in to babysit Itsuki’s tail whenever danger appeared. Eh, whatever. Mousse Sekiren’s still not as awesome as Nekoyashiki, but he can be a close second in the Rental Magica Testasterone Olympiad.
Go Go Mousse Sekiren

Lol, that final blow was way overkill, I reckon.
