Collect Them All!

Impressions:

Let’s see, Princess Yoshida, Pajamas Yoshida, Half Dressed Yoshida, Casual-Wear Yoshida, and School Uniform Yoshida. As far as I know, they hit every single outfit that Yoshida has worn for the entire Shana continuum in one single episode. Well… outside from her bathtime Birthday Suit. I’m not even sure that counts as a costume.

Annnnnyway, kind of a cool down episode where Pheles chills and relaxes with the gang while they expound at length about what a nice Crimson Denizen she is and how much she loves Johan and whatnot… and as it turns out, like the typhoon spewing monster that she is, she really will kill Yuji to go after Johan. Too bad Yuji’s got something silver, armored, angry and willing to punch holes in Pheles to protect him. Didn’t I tell you everything would get loads better with Pheles around? Sure, it was nowhere near as awesome as last episode, but things are actually moving again and it resembles the action series that we know and love. Screw romantic drama. People punching holes in other people via monsters punching holes in them is far more interesting.

Margery starts getting impatient with how late it’s geting. She can’t resist poking at Yuji a bit more and wondering what exactly is up with him. Yuji starts getting all introspective and wonders about Johan sealed within him. Shana continues on her errand.

At home, Yoshida can’t sleep, thinking about Yuji. She flashes back to Wilhelmina and Alastor having a briefing about Yuji and Pheles with all the peons. They don’t say too much interesting, aside from the usual "this is trouble for the Reiji Maigo." Margery agrees, not understanding the silver color either.

Wilhelmina asks Pheles to hold back for now, and she agrees… for JOhan’s sake. As they keep talking Margery makes the note that that Fuzetsu was sure to draw attention. Pheles notices Yoshida and wants to know why a completely normal human is there.

Shana taps on Yoshida’s window and jolts her back to reality. Yoshida rushes to get changed out of her pajamas. Putting on jeans quickly is apparently a trial for her huge ass and she ends up falling over. Yes, THIS WAS SOMETHING IMPORTANT WORTH NOTING. Falling over gives her a reprieve to do some soul-searching, but Shana tells her that Yoshida’s part of this too.

Yoshida runs to the window and Shana takes her hand. Shana grows her flame wings and the two fly into the air. They reaffirm the whole "I like Yuji, but I won’t lose" once airborn for about the fifteenth time this season.

Back at Margery’s/Sato’s place, Pheles glares at Yoshida as they arrive. Yuji wonders why Shana brought Yoshida here as they get ready to head inside. Mragery seals him up for the time being. Pheles walks towards him in a trance. Shana draws her sword and warns her to not try anything funny.

Pheles falls onto Yuji, hugging him. She resonates with Yuji, and realizes Johan’s presence inside Yuji. She caresses his face, but suddenly pushes him away. She tells them that she kept her promise and didn’t harm the Mistes.

Wilhelmina and Margery discuss that the Denizen caused Johan to ‘die’ did something to the Reiji Maigo. That’s probably what tainted it and is causing the silver color, but until they figure out what the curse or trap is on that, they can’t really do anything.

Yoshida gets a little uppity, saying that Yuji’s not just a thing, not a Torch or Mistes, but he’s Yuji.

At the school fair, thanks to all the other crazy costumes, Pheles walks around openly. Wilhelmina and Yuji watch from the roof. They flash back to Yoshida finishing her little speech the previous night. Yoshida makes an impassioned plea to Pheles to not harm somebody that people love. Yuji is a very important person. Shana also steps in and agrees.

Back in the present, the idiot Yuji wonders what exactly this could mean. Idiot. Wilhelmina doesn’t provide answers for him. I’d have recommended a slap in the face for the stupidity.

Yoshida brings Shana and Pheles food and tries to bond with her. Pheles just wants to be with Johan and brusquely walks off. Shana and Yoshida both silently think that they understand her feelings and wander after her.

Eita and Ogata walk hand in hand through the fair. Margery and Sato come up to them and there’s an awkward moment.

Eita doesn’t want to confront Margery over recent events and tries to run off with Ogata. Margery stops him and basically apologizes for things. Eita runs off with Ogata happily. Sato’s surprised at Margery’s change, and Marco gets a few words edgewise as well.

Yuji’s lost in thought on the roof, but he’s happy for now since everybody seems to be having fun. He wonders about his own fate as the Reiji Maigo.

He asks Wilhelmina about Johan and what kind of person he was. Wilhelmina tells him that Johan was the same. He was a human that Pheles fell in love with and because a Denizen and human’s lives are so different, she had to change her nature greatly in order to be with him. During this whole thing, shots of Pheles wins prizes for kids by playing carnival games.

Pheles stops at a clock and remembers back to a time when she was with Johan in the past. The two looked over a festival together. He basically proposed to her before kissing her deeply. She gave into it, even while the Mardis Gras festival continued below. With the kiss, he poured his existence into her. Probably. The imagery here was thick.

Back in reality, Pheles collapses to her knees in tears, remembering Johan.

As the festival ends, Pheles happily thanks Wilhelmina and Margery for their help. She includes Yoshida and Shana as well, thanking them for reminding her about the important feelings. Her expression suddenly turns dark and she says that everything is for her important Johan.

The Hazes are blasted backwards as Pheles seals up Yuji and raises him into the air. She has remembered what was important and will take Johan from Yuji, even if it means killing him. Her feelings are that strong. She moves in towards Yuji to embrace him.

She stops, stunned. An armored fist has plunged out of Yuji’s body and through Pheles’ body.

In the frozen human crowd, Konoe’s butler and her own bracelet glow.
