Dammit… kiss her, you putz!

Impressions:

Sorry to do this, but the caps are done, so may as well post something. I’m still too full of lasagna to function in any useful manner, but I may as well post my thoughts.

Silly Kazuki and being all clueless while leading on both his girls. Well, I’m sure he knows that he’s leading on Futami, but poor Sakino. She needs to turn up the "injured girl" charm a little bit more to rope him in. Also, words cannot express how happy I was that there were no frogs in this episode. It’s a landmark event. Sort of. The animation also seems like it took a slight upswing this episode since they went out of their way to animate poor Sakino’s crutch-related issues.

As always, I’m pissed off at Kouichi and Yumi’s relationship. She’s leaving and in your arms. KISS HER, YOU DOLT. Don’t tear up and talk about how you’ll be together, take her like a beast. Alright, maybe just settle for a kiss, but the thought remains. Luckily, Mao seems to have settled onto Kai over Kouichi after her own date, though that leaves Kouichi without a woman in theory, which I know won’t go well. On the other hand, maybe he and Sakino can bond and lead to more… sexy places.

Anyway, it’s good to have Kimikiss back even though it was only gone for a week. There’s suddenly a glut of stuff airing on Saturdays though. I’m not really certain what’s going on yet. I may switch this to brief summaries and focus on Shigofumi depending on what Totali and Omni do. I should have a better idea in a little while. I’m definitely not dropping it outright though.

The short version of the summary is: Kazuki macks on his women. Mao and Kai go on a date. Yumi and Kouichi go on a date. At the end of it, Yumi tells Kouichi that she’s moving away and has to transfer schools (which I call silly because they just revamped the OP and she’s in it as much as any of the other girls). They tearfully hug after he says they’ll still be together as the new ED kicks in… or maybe it’s just an ED for Yumi saying goodbye. Yup. No kisses for Yumi yet. Full summary should be up in a couple hours. Again, apologies. It’s been a busy day.

Kimikiss New OP

Another morning comes. Kouichi restlessly tosses in bed, thinking about Yumi and how they held hands. Yumi also rises, thinking about Kouichi and telling herself that being with Kouichi was an illusion… but even so… that’s enough.

Kouichi yawns as he and Mao walk to school. She pokes at him for juicy details about his love with Yumi. He just tells her that’d be boring. The two pass by Sakino without realizing that she’s on crutches. The double back in shock and ask her what happened.

The frog duo run up and fawn over Asuka. They present their specially made lunches to her to help her get better. It’s better than frog love therapy. Sakino thanks them and goes to take them. As she reaches out, she loses the grip on her bag and it falls. Kazuki picks it up and chastises Nana for getting in Sakino’s way. Sakino blushes at the attention. Kazuki walks ahead, carrying her bag. She thanks him silently.

Kai walks into the classroom to find Mao staring over the courtyard again, thinking about Kouichi’s passive confession to her about Yumi. Kai interrupts her, but she makes an excuse about looking forward to summer vacation tomorrow. He remembers back to previous day as she wanders off.

In the gym, everybody leaves after the assembly. Some jackass bumps into Sakino and nearly knocks her over, but Kazuki catches her. She spazzes out a bit about being in his arms, but he goes silent when he sees Futami. She notices it and looks down sadly.

The two walk together until they reach a staircase. Sakino stops at it, saying that she’s fine. Kazuki just continues upward. He stops when he notices that Sakino’s not climbing it and goes back to help her. She stops him and gets personal. He flips out a bit, but then she says that she’s noticed how much attention he pays to Futami. She presses him a bit, and he admits that he’s trying to get closer to her. She stresses a little more and demands an answer. She directly asks him if he likes her, and he responds with "probably." Kazuki runs off, leaving her at the bottom of the stairs.

Hiiragi thanks Kouichi and Yumi for their great work on the script. The two try to foist the compliment off onto the other ones while Hiiragi discretely mocks them.

Kazuki has found his way to Futami’s lab room. She smiles at him when he enters. He talks to her about his plans for summer vacation. Futami doesn’t really have too many and doesn’t hold up her end of the conversation. She does eventually say that the experiment could continue. She gives him her cell number and he writes down his for her as well. She excuses herself and leaves.

Kouichi gets ready to leave. Yumi waited for him so they could go home together.

Mao runs out of the gate, thanking Kai for waiting for her, but he’s on the phone making plans. She asks him what that was all about. He tells her that he took off from his part time work and drags her off while she pouts.

Kazuki plays soccer well while Sakino watches all by herself. She keeps thinking back to him saying that he liked Futami. Kazuki jolts her out of it by asking her how he was doing. She apologizes for spacing out. He yells at her for wasting her chance to watch them carefully. He gets up in her face, and she blushes while stammering an excuse. He says it doesn’t matter, there’ll be more chances over the summer. She smiles as he runs off, thinking "yeah, there will be more chances."

Mao and Kai ride the train together. She asks him where they’re going. Just a park. Kai gives her his best bishie look and smiles.

Kouichi and Yumi chow down at the Gom Gom Burger. He’s a little stunned and wonders what all this means. She notices him staring at her and smiles. She spills a little sauce on her fingers and sensually licks it off (I’m not kidding either). Like a putz, this makes Kouichi think about Mao kissing his forehead. He flips out at the memory of that and goes at his drink like a madman. Changing the subject, he asks what she wants to do. She tells him that she wants to go out on the lake with him.

Ever the manly man, Kouichi takes the oars and rows them to the middle of the lake. They enjoy the scenery together.

Yumi notices that Kouichi is all sweaty from rowing and tries to wipe the sweat off him. They lean towards eachother and tilt the boat with Kouichi falling on top of her. He apologizes and moves off. She gets up and remarks

Kai and Mao get off their train. They also head to a burger joint. Kai knew that this place was good, but it’s the first time he’s been.

Mao smiles at him, while admitting that she doesn’t know what Kai likes to eat. She suddenly realizes that she doesn’t actually know a lot about Kai because he doesn’t talk about himself.

Kouichi and Yumi walk together. Awkwardly at first, but they move closer until they’re hand in hand. They pass an arcade and Yumi wants to stop in and play. After a brief montage of happy happy funtimes involving Yumi cleaning up at a slot machine and Kouichi sucking at the UFO Catcher, the date continues. Kouichi thinks it’s getting late, but Yumi wants to stay out longer.

At the beach, Mao frolicks, enjoying the ocean while Kai stoilidly follows her. She goes off to buy popsicles for them and the vendor thinks that Kai is her boyfriend. Mao admits that it’s something like that and looks at him meaningfully.

At sunset, Mao is beat, but Kai drags her over to a view of the entire city and ocean. It’s beautiful and she thanks him, but wants to know why. He tells her it’s because he wanted to see her happy. She thinks about him again, thinking that it’d be okay to be together, and lays her head on his shoulder. He’s surprised, but then smiles at her.

Kouichi and Yumi finally leave the arcade after night falls. There’s one more place that Yumi wants to go together with him. She grabs his shirt and asks if that’s okay. The two head to a park and sit on a bench. Kouichi seduces her with stories about Kazuki. Smooth move. She segues the talk about Kazuki into asking what his type of girl is. He blushes and doesn’t answer.

The tears gather in her eyes as she looks at the clock and says that her time is almost up. She runs away, but stops as Kouichi starts to give chase. She tells him that she’s transferring schools and is going to have to leave him as the tears pour from her eyes. Kouichi tells her that he’d go to see her. Even if he has to get a job. Even if he has to take a train. Even if she’s transferring, they’ll still be together. The two hug as the new ED plays.
