Impressions:

This was just the cast/staff talking about the film interspersed with random very short clips from the movie which they sometimes talked over. I’m still sure this will end up being a disaster, but I did find some of it rather funny. The actresses laughing about being covered in blood and everybody else recoiling from them as they tried to get around was especially funny.

I’m honestly not really interested in this as I am convinced that this will be a sin unto man, beast and mythical auauau~, but I figured some people might want to see caps, so go nuts.

I think this is the movie’s song and it worked as the special’s OP

    None of them have yellow, green or purple hair!!! and riku looked like she was 15 years old with breasts instead of being 8 years old!

    Dude, the black hair thing is cool with me, but they don’t even have the same hairstyles, except for Mion. Satoko doesn’t have pigtails! >.> And whats with all the normal clothing? I wants me some mismatched school uniforms and strange white dresses with bows now!

    I’m cool with the changes. I’m not viewing this as a direct live version of the anime/games, but rather a horror movie inspired by the them. So, as much as I’ll miss them, I’m not going to be begging for rainbow haircolors or my “nipahs”. For me, what’s most important is that they get the tone and setting down-the paranoia and insanity.

    Wow, lots of people here don’t have open minds about live action drama adaptations to anime it seems…

    In the case of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Live action, I’d prefer to judge it based on the fact of it being its own separate movie, not weather or not its close enough to the anime/video games for my liking.

    Since animation and live movies are two far different routes of entertainment in the T.V. business, you cannot judge them on the same grounds, otherwise you will always sorely be disappointed.

    I for one, am looking forward to seeing this movie and judging it as a movie.

    In my opinion, when you try to use each detail of the anime to the fullest in adapting it to a live action movie (such as abstract hair styles or colors)… it becomes incredibly ridiculous and dooms it as a movie o_o.

    I’m fine with the girls looking like normal, real people, and as if they are junior high/high schoolers.

    Stuff like Power Rangers, THAT my friends, is an abomination.

    While I agree that things like clothes and abstract and natural hair colors should be left out to make the story more believable, there are things that just don’t fit. I’m not entirely sure I like them looking or being so much older than they’re suppose to be. Those kind of inaccuracies can kill it.
    I look forward like WindFox said to judging it on it’s own.
