Goonies never say die!
Impressions:
Sorry, things are a little hectic hereabouts and time got away from me, so you’ll have to live with a short version this week. It’s basically a lot of battening down the hatches and getting ready for Takano’s night of carnage. Rika warns more people, the kiddos develop their plans to protect Rika even further including Satoko and Keiichi cackling madly that Rika must ‘die’ (fake her death), and Takano isn’t bright enough to not act crazy in front of Irie. I guess it worked for her in the past, so why change it?
The episode was more scattered than usual, never really focusing on anybody for more than a few minutes, which left me with a feeling that it really didn’t go anywhere. It mostly showcased everybody working together and lots of brainstorming on plans to protect Rika, but eh… “we have a conniving murderess and her gang of thugs out to slaughter us all” isn’t exactly the most abstract of scenarios. You’d think that with knowledge of exactly what is going to happen and who is going to do it, the police would be able to handle things. Not to mention that you’d think there’d be opposition on the evil murderess’ side when your target suddenly starts meeting with the police constantly and all the cops go into an unusual buzz of activity. I don’t know that she could do much, but you’d expect at least some token resistance when your plan starts going wahoonie shaped in its eleventh hour. Oh well, Hinamizawa’s penchant for getting itself into slaughters is pretty widely known at this point. Takano is probably counting on somebody accidently trodding on another’s toe and the massacre starting on its own.
