Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS #11
June 10th, 2007
Training’s over. It’s time for the real show to start.
Impressions:
As usual, caps will be updated when a raw above 320×240 appears.
Marginally better 640×360 caps are up. They’re done changing now.
This episode has a ton of things going on. We get to see a pair of new mages, Hayate deploys, we finally see Lutecia’s little beastie, and aside from the 2 minutes of rehashed transformation scenes, everything was continually in motion. Looks like the training time is finally over and we’re getting all the matchups for the second half in place.
Summary:
We see Carim and Chrono socializing when Signum comes in. We then get the alert that Hayate’s unit is active and we switch back to pimp Erio and all his bitches trying to figure out what’s up with the escaped loli while Nanoha and Fate are en route.
Hayate is briefing Carim, Chrono and Signum on the girl and the Relic-like object chained to her. Meanwhile, the Aces and Shamal have met up and are treating the loli. Suddenly a battalion of both the flier gadget drones and the normal ones start to converge on their location. Vita is in flight and already in full battle mode. Ginga is also preparing to rendezvous with them. Fate and Nanoha are assigned to combat the air units while the cadets are to sortie against the drones.
The cadets all transform in slightly shorter versions of their previous transformation scenes. Basically the exact same thing as before minus the exploding clothes at the start. Nanoha and Fate also transform, though we skip their sequences entirely… thankfully and Rein also heads out of the copter to run wingman for Vice.
Lutecia is lurking on a pole nearby and gets a call from somebody who asks her about sister. Lutecia summons a small black blob thing and teleports with it away to search for something.
The drones are moving at a faster speed than expected, so the cadets and Ginga are having to scramble to get into position. On the way, Erio asks Subaru about Ginga. Ginga also transforms en route, no sequence though.
Fate and Nanoha are easily handling the sky units while Ginga does some last minute briefing to Hayate and Carim/Chrono about the nature of the things she found and that they may need to be careful about the girl that they found as she was artificially created as a result of powerful magic.
Caro’s Kerykeon glows again and they realize that they’re nearby the drones. Vita and Rein have pretty much finished off the drones in the air, but then suddenly a gigantic fleet of them appears and surrounds them and the two Aces lead by a previously unseen female mage.
The number of air drones is astounding, so Hayate prepares to deploy. Nanoha and Fate are holding their own for the moment, but they’re under heavy attack and aren’t entirely certain how to handle the situation.
Hayate radios in that she’s on the scene and ready to fight alongside them. Chrono is also standing by and releases her limiter a couple levels to let her deal with the situation allowed her to become Super Sayajin Magical Girl Level S.
The cadets are still guardin the sewers from the drones, but Kerykeon is still showing that Lutecia is nearby. Then a wall explodes and Ginga bursts out. Her gauntlet and roller blades are similar to Subaru’s in use.
Hayate thanks HQ for their good work and lets herself run wild with the book of the night sky. There’s some really nice BGM here, if not particularly well suited to the scene. Hayate charges up a blast and annihilates the area, which takes out the vast majority of the drones.
The cadets are still fighting in the sewers though and we get to see Ginga and Subaru’s combo attack against one of the sphere drones. Ginga distracts it, and then Subaru tags it with a point blank Divine Buster.
Every thing is done, but suddenly they hear a series of richochets, and a nearly invisible beast attacks Caro. Erio leaps to block it but gets tossed aside. It then becomes visible which distracts them long enough for Lutecia to pick up the Relic box. Subaru and Ginga attack the beast, and knock it back.
Lutecia was walking away, and Subaru yells at her to stop. She pauses for a moment, and invisible Tea materializes with her gun dagger at Lutecia’s throat. Before Tea can take her hostage, the red-haired girl drops a huge magical flash, distracting Tea long enough for the beastie to kick her away. She tries to shoot Lutecia, but the beast jumps in the way and takes the shot.
Our tiny little redhead (seriously looks like an Etna clone) tells them to prepare for a fight… episode end. Next episode, we get more action, more Hayate, and more of the new mages.
