The episode opens with Suzu telling about how all the men were washed away, and after a relatively sleepless night for Ikuto full of attempted kidnappings, the elder decides that Ikuto will be playing tag in order to settle the “rights of ownership…” whoever catches him, gets to keep him. Suzu would rather let him stay free, so once the game begins, she uses all her ninja skills to take down each and every one of his pursuers. Then, at the end, he of course ends up staying with Suzu. Surprise surprise.

Animation and artwork took about 4 steps up this episode. Everything from Suzu’s ninja activities to Ikuto’s fight against the carnivorous plants looked gorgeous. This show definitely has the energy and madcap action that Hayate lacks, although it is definitely playing up to the bizarre parts of the manga. Suzu has also gained a couple cup sizes from the manga and let me tell you… the half clothes look in the wrappings and skirt? I could definitely get used to that.
