Azur Lane #06 — “Buy The DVD!”

November 7th, 2019

Oh, the blinding light.

Non-Impressions:

If you're wondering what happened to the promised post last Saturday, or why a couple times this weekend the blog was consume by either 503 errors or a black void, those things would be related. I tried to do some updates and install some upgrades and just general backend changes, particularly to the forums, but apparently something caused just an entire meltdown of the site. I honestly think that I tripped my host's security systems or something because I got back a cryptic saying essentially "We apologize for the issues and have rolled the compromised database back to a known good point and all looks fine now." Which is interesting for multiple reasons, one of which being that I wasn't messing around with the backend database at all. It made for a… stressful couple days where the greatest accomplishment was restoring things from the broken tatters.

Oh, this episode? They all took a bath. It was largely covered by blinding white light which should have probably had "BUY THE DVDS" emblazoned over every glowing blob.

For the rest of the season, I'm going to try to keep to three to four posts a week. It'll likely be the two Thursday shows… one of which I'll actually watch, the other just has some fanservicey screencaps that I'll ramble about unrelated matters as I have been, some flavor of OVA or movie that I've ignored or relegated to an obscure call-out in an unrelated post, and a writeup on some game. Indivisible is definitely first up, because I love Valkyrie Profile and it pains me that it's now it mobile-game hell. That should come Tuesday. Saturday will be the skeleton of the post I rescued from the ill-fated chaos of the weekend, stripped of any mention of the things I tried to do. I may have more things to talk about soon(ish), but I've also not worked on the things that I want to work on for going on a month now, which is usually a bad sign for them becoming a full-fledged thing, rather than my personal fever dream. We'll see. I want to get back into the swing of things, but this season is making it difficult.

Man this episode was not great, did not remotely enjoy crying unicorn or unicorn fanservice. The girl in image 58(?) in the red, I did like that.
