The Reflection #01 — Stan Lee vs College Interns

July 22nd, 2017

I feel bad for the person who had to animate this.

Impressions:

This is like an art student's budget passion project… except with Stan Lee's name attached to it. Maybe it's meant to be pseudo-rotoscoped for 'realistic' artsy animation, but they just couldn't be bothered to fill in 75% of the animation frames? And slow it all by half? And occasionally forget to draw or texture things? You would think that an episode that's 90% action wouldn't be so hard on the eyes and dull, but I guess that's what happens when the animation isn't there at all, and everybody and everything seems like it's struggling to move through molasses. Honestly, I don't really know what to make of it as a package, but it certainly wasn't an enjoyable twenty minutes. I'm not sure what or who this is even for. People who like those quasi-animated comic book things, but would prefer 20% more animation?

    Something cheap.

Deen topped themselves this time. I’ve seem things better animated in YouTube. Is as if they picked a 2 minute short and extended it to make it last 20 minutes.
