Long Riders #01 — Cheap Knockoff
October 8th, 2016
Self-awareness, thy name be not this.
Classica Loid had WAY too much screaming for early Saturday morning for me to be able to survive to the halfway point.
Impressions:
Bland, shiftless girl sees bike, falls in love with specific kind of bike amidst flurry of cherry petals, had nonstop friendshipgasm with friends over how great this new thing is as it completely consumes her empty life. The only question I really need to answer is whether or not it's like Softenni where it uses the random thing it glommed onto as a jumping off point to actual content, or whether it uses it as an excuse to quote a Wikipedia article about it to fill the time while the 'content' is just breathy girls oohing and aahing over banal nothingness for twenty minutes. It's the latter in every way, shape, and form. You've seen this show a hundred times before over the last year with just the specific Wikipedia article changed; be it painting, cooking, or an oddly specific form of Japanese dance. There are too many other shows today to waste any further brain cells on this.

“an oddly specific form of Japanese dance”, that probably was the most interesting one, or it would have been, if not for all the god-forsaken crying they did.
