Tales of Zestiria #11 — Girl Talk

September 18th, 2016

My god, could the filler be any more blatant?

Impressions:

Christ. What the hell was that conversation at the start? A couple random girls pop up out of utterly nowhere and begin blathering incessantly about their childhood crushes, how big their breasts are, and slobbering all over Sorey's dick for his protagonist powers. Never before have I wanted so much for characters to immediately meet with some kind of grisly vivisection. The rest of the first half would proceed more or less the same as that; idiots standing around having insipid conversations about empty platitudes and at absolute best, how war is the super evilest.

They only somewhat found the budget around the 16 minute mark, but it largely took the form of the protagonists effortlessly beating up countless mooks. The only thing they struggled against was getting too tired. And that's not to say that it wasn't full of some godawful stills either, with particularly bizarre fisheye zoom effects to show how Sorey was struggling with… the evil of war. Meanwhile, he was showing his protagonist anti-war power by indiscriminately carpet bombing the battlefield. Oh, but the very last attack just targeted the war wraiths, so all the firebombing and explosions don't count. Granted, he then learns that he was unsuccessful in beating up violence with violence, but only because war is the super ultimate ultra evil, and he's just a protagonist.

But really, the most bizarre thing of the episode was that it ended with "Next episode's the last episode… except for the next season next year!"

  • Germanguy says:

Perhaps this Girly talk you mention, whats to fill up the empty space of this episode, but also some kind of calm before the storm

  • algorithm says:

    Still no gay sex?

  • anise_punter says:

Not the most interesting Tales game adaptation in existence, I can really think of only one positive outside of the Berseria episodes.

  • The Phantom says:

Those girls are expendable imo, they are not in the game so yea, and was kinda expecting husbando mickleo to get jealous, did not happen but would have been amusing regardless.
