Alderamin #01 — This Hammock is the Tits

July 8th, 2016

Really? A whole little bit on a hammock?

Impressions:

This was astonishingly boring for how little internal narration or history lessons explicitly laying out the setting there were. The first half was one character after another coming in and introducing themselves, literally for most of it, and then the second half after being shipwrecked was more sitting around, but this time in a cave instead of a room, continuing to chatter away. The episode was almost twenty straight minutes of people sitting in a circle, introducing themselves, reviewing the situation, and just chattering away. It also was heavily subscribed to Granola Bob's Sounds of the Forest, albeit with marginally more of a Celtish flavor.

I feel like they could've taken the broad strokes of this episode and done a hell of a lot more, but everyone's content to sit in circles, laze around, or test hammocks. That's seriously a thing in this episode. Protagonist weaves a hammock, Princess sits down in it, and is awed by the wonder of… a hammock. The most interesting thing in the entire episode was when someone loaded one of the little ewok things into their gun. I think. It was dark and this show is barely animated to begin with so my eyes had glazed over and my brain had fallen asleep.

Why not just get hammocks from the hammock district?

MASSIVE SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

The gimmicky here is that the author killed off permanently and for real the red haired girl which was the female lead, so MC could focus on the princess loli (who later grows up), so yea quite the bastard the author must be, is a very interesting show otherwise.

You do realize that spoiling is a bad thing, right? Don’t do it unless you can mask the spoilers, especially for such a major plot point.
