Amnesia and flashbacks. My favorite things.

Impressions:

Well this was fantastic. After two episodes where everything was blatently stretched out to ludicrous levels, we get about five minutes of "You have SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much amnesia", and "my power energy level is maximum!" followed by the rest of the episode being a flashback. A flashback adding… that there's a mad scientist. I mean, what other goddamned possible way is there to tell as story besides hitting the pause button and sleeping? How else is the story supposed to move forward besides everyone standing stock still and retconning in an assload of things that they totally said and did, and were totally part of their characters all along that may or may not become relevant at any point?

They even started the episode with a goddamned montage of all the other side characters doing their things, but I guess we don't really care about him because we need twenty minutes of dreaming. The stupid robot's reveal that she was the intended… brain… wave recipient or whatever for his dead girlfriend is probably the worst of the lot, ending the episode on basically a non sequitur to everything else, attempted to be excused with some really godawful handwaving about how everything's totally connected by… coil magic or something.
