Ah yes, that writing precept: Tell, then spend 24 times as long showing.

Impressions:

What a complete waste of an episode. The entire thing can basically be summarized as "You know that thing we brought up in the past? Mostly last week? Well, here's four more minutes on it, apropos of absolutely nothing." Four minutes of dead girlfriend. Four minutes of being in the Suicide Squad. Four minutes of "look at this wacky collection of collectors" that we said would be traveling to the doom island. Four minutes of traveling to the the doom island. And the flashback especially is just pitched out there, totally unconnected to anything. Let's remember that the end of last week was "we're going to the doom island," so spending half the episode on the dead girl, and then the second half on exposition and transit, and we've ended up in basically the same narrative place as we left off, but now with some completely superficial knowledge about mostly unrelated events, and a general idea of how little fashion sense everyone in this world has.
