In a big way.

OVA with the last DVD. Technically released a week ago, but still beating the most recent Yozakura OVA which was (due to be) released at the start of October and yet is still MIA.

Impressions:

Oh right, this show. And this is definitely what the fans were hoping for; an episode about the robot becoming an idol. Like usual, it didn’t get as far as actual parody, or hell, even anything incisive to say about Japan’s mass-produced idol industry that churns them out like a factory and then throws ’em away. It just got as far as “An idol robot? Hilarious!”, put together one of those atrocious idol CGI dance scenes, and called it a day.

Mainly this episode makes me worry a few things. One, that Blondie’s… costume… wasn’t a joke. They didn’t seem to really treat it as one. Two, that Japan might not realize what naming an idol group Golden Retriever entails. Three, that Japan does realize what naming an idol group Golden Retriever entails. And four, that there’s already a light novel out there named something like “I Built A Robot Little Sister But It Became an Idol and Fell in Love With Me” and it’s only a matter of time before it gets adapted.
