Tokyo ESP #06 — Professor Panda’s Time Filling Adventures

What a bold new character.
Impressions:
Another not very exciting or interesting episode. They were going for a recovery/rebuild/refocus/train kind of episode, but it feels a bit flat since the big baddies didn’t really do much of anything besides park a boat downtown. Sure, there’s the collateral damage and Azuma’s kidnapping to be angsty over and they didn’t dwell that much on it, but it’s still all a bit too… well… impersonal and lacking in purpose. The closest it got was a couple random emergency workers having about a three second ethical debate over whether espers were good or bad. After that, it was more or less just passing the time and I fail to see why we couldn’t have simply skipped most of it. They trained because… training. They’re doing anything at all because… they are the only possible agents of change in the world? But that doesn’t mean anybody should like, stop doing their homework or take time off from work. It’s only important enough to do in your spare time.Â
Taking an aside to have an overly long training montage with hilarious wacky panda teacher which is hilarious because he’s dressed like a panda and is also a pervert isn’t doing the show any favors either. What’s really surprising is they spent a modicum of effort onto it. That’s exactly the kind of thing to just pass on so you can put extra effort into the scenes that need it. It’s not even amusing training montage either where they learn different styles or to use their powers in novel ways through seemingly wacky or weird exercises either. It’s… running. Â

The Boy at the Last Screens…
he is some kind of Sasuke in Naruto with his Eye. Because he can see the Future, he know the move she will done. Cheating Boy :)
