Brynhildr #09 — Suddenly… Nothing

June 1st, 2014

It’s making me miss the jam.

Impressions:

There was minimal tension to begin with, and then it all but disappeared when she slipped her leash. Then, before we hit the halfway point, she was learning about trust and friendship from the resident male sponge and the entire female cast was enjoying one of Japan’s famous radioactive baths. The rest of the episode was basically just Nanami wandering around, ‘hilariously’ wondering about boobs and the value of money.  And of course, frieeeendship.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the show it is if it didn’t make no goddamned sense a few times. The cherry on that particular crap sundae was how he somehow just faked being mindraped. Apparently that’s a thing and she just doesn’t realize whether or not her powers actually ever worked despite being able to read memories. Not only that, but she helpfully told him what she did so he knew what he was supposed to be faking. How convenient.

Next Episode:

Yawn.

4 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

I hope that’s the last time I have to listen to a grown man wail like a baby.

  • Longing says:

Feh, him being immune to mind rape wasn’t even the highlight of the episode.

I prefer to teleporting girl’s reason for them wearing the sunglasses.

“I can’t teleport someone wearing sunglasses, so maybe sunglasses will protect us from her memory changing powers.”

It better get revealed later that anyone wearing sunglasses is immune to witch powers. Whether it be beams, explosions, or spontaneous nudity.

    • Anon says:

Well, Neko used her Magic true a Window, to demonstrate the Scientist to make the Pills. As long it was not cover in Ice, her Magic works with Glass…
