Glee! #14 — Return of the Alpaca

April 6th, 2014

I still don’t understand them.

Impressions:

Well paint me red and call me the Kool-Aid Man because only one of the two dance sequences was rotoscoped. And that one looked like it came straight out of High School Musical or something, but I know better than to think that a show like this would be knowingly parodying anything or being self-aware. But for a brief moment at the start, I doubted that conviction and hoped. It would quickly dash those hopes and go back to just being oblivious. Good lord, her magical voice makes the rain go away, summons the sun, makes horses neigh, and throws the camera into a tumble dryer. Such is the power of the god child idol.

And if you’re wondering what’s going to be driving this season, well we’re rewinding the clock and doing the exact same thing as the first one because anything changing in the slightest is the kind of risk that we just can’t take. The entire episode is about there being another Love Live competition, but Honoka doesn’t want to do it because “We’re friends now so we don’t need to, so screw what you guys want.” I can’t find a single way to turn that over in my head and have it make sense. And then next week they go to a hot springs resort. Careful guys, don’t get too ambitious.

Next Episode:

Same as it ever was.

    All good

  • Sanjuro says:

I liked the first season. It wasn’t in any way great but I enjoyed it enough. After watching WUG, this seems like a masterpiece.

  • Benigmatica says:

I’m thinking that Love Live will be dropped soon…
