Valvrave #19 — Tongue Play

November 21st, 2013

Did they just forget about Saki when they left?

Impressions:

It’s really a shame that we couldn’t hear the radio chatter, especially at the start. I imagine it went something like this.

"There’s a terrorist in our rich people mansion!"
"SEND IN ALL THE HELICOPTERS! FIRE ALL GUNS!"
"He appears to be armed with nothing but a pistol."
"FIRE MISSILES! ALL THE MISSILES!"
"Uh. What about our people and the hosta–"
"I DON’T HEAR THE MISSILES BEING FIRED!"
"Um. Missiles away. Now what?"
"SEND IN AN ENTIRE BATTALION OF GROUND TROOPS!"
"What about those giant robots heading this way?"
"MORE GROUND TROOPS! ESPECIALLY THE ONES WITH SHIVS!"

And suddenly Team SuperRobotVampireImmortalBodySnatchers seem like tactical geniuses. Not to mention the entire bloody rest of the episode. I’m pretty sure I didn’t even follow all that. The magic vampires are actually glowy parasite aliens who found out they can eat people’s brains after they crash landed and centuries later after forming the Illuminati, their grand plan was to build robots powered by their food. I’m trying to picture Valvrave 2, where the cows rise up against the alien humans for making robots powered by hamburgers and ice cream and can’t help but think it’d probably make more sense than metaphysical alien brain eating wizards vs superscience vampires in giant robots. Oh, and then like the magical macguffin that she is, she grew wings and used her memory lifeforce tongue to repair a conventional rocket. Apparently this is something that can be done. Also begging the question of why she needed to be rescued if she could grow wings at will.

Next Episode:

What? She’s back?

sounds like S2 is getting better again, since they landed on Earth it was shit

  • dororoninpo18 says:

so the supposedly invincible guy almost dies. love sure does make people crazy

After one and a half seasons of them pretending Lisellote was supposed to be important she immediately dies when she meets up with the super teen squad, what the hell was her point.

Also did they completely forget about shoko? Is she going to be like Kallen in Code Geass S2 and just sit in a prison cell for half the season and then re-appear in the last few episodes?
