Tokyo Ravens #07 — Three Men Walk Into a Bar

November 19th, 2013

None of them tell a joke.

Impressions:

The less said about the first half of the episode the better. They did enough blathering already. Japan also needs to seriously think about just flat out retiring the whole "test in the field THAT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG," thing. I’m not even sure I can think of any time when the test went horribly right. Yeah, yeah, cliches exist for a reason, but once we’ve set it up, just goddamned get to it instead of pissing about. When you spend five minutes talking about the possible horrible side effects of a practical test simulating events leading to mass slaughter by nue monkeydogtigersnakes, and maybe a minute of a single monkeydogtigersnake hopping around, you’ve clearly got your priorities backward.

And speaking of the monkeydogtigersnakes, the second half wasn’t exactly free from the blathering either, although of the two new antagonists that were wandering around, they averaged out to maybe half a normal person in terms of diarrhea of the mouth is concerned. Even the monkeydogtigersnake was just the jobber du jour while the entirety of Team Scooby was knocked flat from the sheer overwhelming awesomeness of his… Oh wait, he spent practically the entire thing just talking about how awesome he was while his power was so much greater than everybody else’s. By kicking them. What is with this show and kicking? Is it trying to taunt Professor Pegleg? Is him kicking something going to be the ultimate attack of the series? I think I hope it is.

3 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • Fate says:

Way to go protagonist. Piss off the strongest character yet encountered who is actually pretty cool.

  • FlameStrike says:

KICK MASTERS, THE ULTIMATE FINAL KICKENING!!!!!

  • The Phantom says:

Yea mr crazy was pretty cool, but this show will probably get rid of him soon and go back to kagome 2.0 and mr dense.

Heck even the girl that died and crazy lolita were cooler than the actual cast, lolita seems like is going back though but paper girl is gone permanently.
