Can we pick up the pace here a bit?

Impressions:

The procedural portion of this arc continues. And by procedural, I mean Japanese procedural. And by Japanese procedural, I mean the protagonists move from point A to point B, then listen to the lifestories and/or flashbacks of anybody at their destination. And each one takes half the bloody episode. Why yes. This could have moved damn faster, or used any of the combat robots and dragons that are supposed to be its hook. This director knows how to do action. It’s the same pornoriffic guy as that Friday hero show. Apparently we don’t have the budget for it here I guess. Or even for the CGI addled nonsense that was in its first episode.

Yada yada, flashbacks, backstory, any semblance of competence on the protagonist’s side is immediately removed by him being paralyzed by his own flashes of what can’t even charitably be called insight as he stands there gasping while being clubbed. Maybe he was distracted by his own flashback. Aaaaand considering that the antagonist basically led him right to it anyway, that stock wasn’t particularly high to begin with. Oh, and other people are also attacking that other girl who has been totally extraneous to this arc under obviously false pretenses. Gasp!
