Daybreak Illusion #06 — When In Doubt, Rewrite!

August 10th, 2013

…Yeah, uh. Great plan, AIC.

Impressions:

Seira’s episode, but again, it’s hard for me to tell what they were even trying to do here. They switched up pretty much the entire Daemonia formula this time around, I guess to bring Seira into Team Conflicted Over Killing Them, but doing so flies in the face of pretty much every single thing they’ve established about them so far. In a way, it’s where the show probably should have been from the start, but at the same time, after five episodes pounding in something else completely different at excrutiating length, it instead come off as an incredibly lazy writing change just to force Seira’s change because someone realized that the same "killing murderers who have become monsters is bad" thing probably wouldn’t work very well for her. Not that I agree wholly with the sentiment though. She wasn’t exactly Miss Well-Adjusted from the very start and there are a number of ways she could’ve been shown to hate what she was/was becoming short of a nearly cherubic innocent friend to kill.
