Oh boy. Another one of these episodes.

Impressions:

The enormo flashback continues, now with other flashes around the timestream because why not? The everpresent budget problems that reared their ugly head particularly severely at the end of last episode continued through pretty much this entire thing. The two very brief quasi fights around the halfway point and end were about the closest it came to being actually animated, and those only lasted a few seconds each. Not that I think any real attempt to repaint Sasami’s mother would have worked anyway, but twenty minutes of talking heads and bad cliches isn’t even trying. Let’s not discuss Sasami effectively giving birth to her own mother either. Freud would have a field day.

Oh, and then the lord of pink showed up to rant from even further in the distance than usual with her fox maid. Again, because why not?
