Young Justice: Invasion #16 — Evil Minion Coffee

February 16th, 2013

There are some things underwater grunts wearing manta suits shouldn’t offer you.

Impressions:

Solid episode. First one in a while. Quite action packed with only the bare minimum of utterly unconvincing developments tucked away at the very start and end. Well, all of MM’s "I will have my bloody vengeance. Oops. They fought back. Time to run," repeated schticks were bad too, but most things about her have been bad for a very, very long time. Artemis’s weird identity crisis that I can’t see going anywhere popped up for all of about one line too. At least most of this was short and not dwelled upon though.

But regardless of how the writing’s gone a bit off the rails in inexplicable ways, it was a decently action packed episode from start to finish. It lacked the wit that Weissman usually puts into things, but Sportsmaster continues to be a far better character than Sportsmaster really has any right to be. I wish Deathstroke had gotten a little more screentime though. He’s been introduced pretty late in the game and turning him into just another jobber makes me wonder why they pulled him in at all.

It’s amazing how you can make a review that tells me almost nothing about what happened in the episode. In fact, all I ever seem to learn is that there are many things you don’t like, and some things you like reluctantly. That would make you the Nostalgia Critic of animated shows

A long time ago, I summarized everything and wrote my own thoughts in two separate sections and tried to keep them separated as much as possible. Long, long ago…

Sorry, that wasn’t right. I like your reviews, and this is a particularly good one. I just forgot where I was for a sec

This is eerily feeling like Guilty Crown, only instead of laughing on how dumb it is, I’m just only bored at how slow it surprisingly feels.
