Young Justice: Invasion #11 — Poor Sportism

January 12th, 2013

Oh hey, it’s this show again.

Oreshura continues to be little more than noise with the tint knob turned too high and while DC3 (opening) seems determined to outboob even Senran Kagura, that’s about the only noteworthy thing about it. I think that’s pretty much all I want to say about either of their second episodes.

Impressions:

Not a great episode here either though. Random alien charges in, beats everyone up, silly robot runs around cracking wise, they mindzap him, the end. Lobo did it better and without the wacky scientologist robot. It’s still hard to really tell what they’re doing with MM. After ten episodes of her flying around mindraping everyone, doing a total 180 and having the rest of the team tell her to do it while she acts tortured over it because of Aquaface fails to evoke much sympathy for her. And I really do not want to see some kind of horrible love triangle there.

The other side was just kind of recapping a whole lot of things. Static Shock has electricity powers (wow, surprise!), the Reach is doing Reachy things, the Scarab wants to kill everyone, etc etc. Nothing all that interesting there either, just filling the time, occasionally with particularly bizarre things, like the Reach demanding witnesses and evidence right before cutting to nearly half a dozen, and that’s not even including the villain ones they had been experimenting on. Also, I’m not sure how exactly any of Team Good Guy had no records at all on the operations they had been tracking and running. It’s all very handwavy and they’re not doing a very good job of it, relying on just "Oh, nobody kept records of absolutely anything they did, ever." And especially not when the main computer they’ve been using for everything is still floating up in the air untouched.

2 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

Pretty lame that Despero is reduced to random alien thug.

To be honest I was sleeping through Oreshura but have to admit that silver haired girl made me laugh when she manipulated the other girl into some funny/ridiculous sequence with a guitar case.

Not sure if I’m going to drop that show yet, probably gonna stick around for a few more episodes.
