Impressions:

Huge step down from the first episode and I really hope that the rest aren’t going to be continuing in the vein, in terms of the utter lack of action or the atrociously slow pacing. Or the complete lack of anything. Asuka can’t summon her ninja spirit animal thingy because… she can’t. Wow, is that ever a great impetus to dedicate apparently not just one, but multiple episodes to resolving. Good lord, I hate to think how long it would take them had there been any actual reason for it. That could’ve been the entire season right there.

And… uh… there’s really not much else to the episode besides some showers and them splashing around in kiddy pools with/without frogs molesting their cleavage. Some needless putzing around at the start explaining the obvious about who they fought at the end of last week too, I guess? Whoopie. Thanks for eplaining that the magic puppets were used by a puppet user. I’m not sure I was able to follow that complicated plot point.
