Impressions:

You can tell that it’s not a significant battle because it didn’t have a random insert song. Aaaah, I remember the old days. No matter how trivial the training exercise, no matter how trivial the event, it got an insert song. I miss you, hamhanded direction. You were… uh… preferable? Maybe the music budget ran out. If you can’t pull up an insert song for a bunch of the top pilots in prototype weaponry designed to be the be-all end-all solution to war curbstomping nameless faceless terrorists, then what’s left, Total Eclipse? What’s left?

The rest was more or less the same as last week. People standing around chatting, watching bleeps and bloops on screens, and some reminders that the BETA existed. Unfortunately, there weren’t any poorly trained teenage schoolgirls flying around this time for them to blow up. More’s the pity. Oh they sort of tried to pretend like there was any actual threat to the characters by sending Yuuya off to fight Team Nameless The Couerl Express Elite by himself and then cutting away as one inevitably suicide bombed China, but the former lasted all of maybe a minute while the entire rest of the cast was waiting just off-screen, and the former was just silly. They’ve still just kind of tossed terrorists into the show and are struggling to figure out what to do with them. I think it may even run out of episodes before they come up with an answer to that.
