Total Eclipse #21 — Mission Briefing

December 2nd, 2012

Shut up and shoot something already.

Impressions:

I don’t know if it’s something new with how they animated them this week, something I missed before, or something I just blocked out of my memory, but I have to say that the breast bouncing in those flight suits is genuinely disturbing. Especially when Yui was running through the halls. Like… rippling mercury… The episode’s bigger sin though was just being really boring. They got to their mechs, killed some enemy generics, and then both sides spent about 18 minutes talking about their plans and how the Americans are suspicious which had all the excitement of a mission briefing without the useful powerpoint slides. Or just release the labbed-up BETA.

They really need to do whatever the hell they’re going to do with the Americans soon too. The terrorists really aren’t particularly good antagonists, especially now that the only one with any actual connection to any character has been shot in the head. On one side, we have untrained quasi-civilians who get cut down immediately. On the other, we have highly experienced pilots who have been training to fight other highly experienced pilots, along with the Scarlet Twins who have been known to assassinate entire platoons of veteran soldiers. Now that everyone’s in their super mechs, "RARR, TERRORISTS!" doesn’t really cut it for showing them in any kind of danger… and especially not when they’re being swatted down like flies.

4 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • TMH says:

Were the ladies’ flight suits always that shiny? Especially around the chest? I must have blocked that from mammary…er…memory myself…

  • The Phantom says:

I seriously thought that suit was some kind of armor, never expected that everything was gonna start bouncing after so many episodes…

  • jingoi says:

    Holy jello molds Batman!

  • eternia says:

You forgot there is a bad-ass one. The one who took down the USSR female officer as she parted with MC-kun last arc. Maybe that bad-ass is a member of RLF Truck Delivery Company? Or else there would be no story to tell. The pilot is probably the red haired Jesus.
