Don’t they know that the original Kanojo Musou was just a bad fighter?

Impressions:

Mainly centered around Asuka, Ken’s childhood friend and quasi-ex, although from the way she flirts with him, holds his hand, straddles him, acts like they’re on a honeymoon, and calls the others mistresses of her husband… Let’s just say that Ken was not winning any points this week. This iteration of him continues to trend towards the "worthless chunk of balsa wood/screaming ovary proximity alarm" archetype rather his past version. The bad flashback/exposition dump about not being able to choose who was more important between her and Ringo was also handled with all the finesse of a hippopotamus on rollerblades. And it came earlier in the episode than usual, so my eyes got stuck in the roll position with still about 5 minutes left. That was uncomfortable.

The rest… eh. Asuka herself is fine, or at least not as annoying as Ringo. I can’t shake the feeling that she’s just taking over the spot that Chizuru had last season, minus the sadism angle and being slightly more touchy. Physically. I probably would have enjoyed her teasing more if it hadn’t continued to send Ken down bad cliche roads. I guess Othello in the afternoon is better than shogi all night long.
