Well, I guess only one is technically completely new.
With such hilarious jokes like… she walks in after taking a bath half naked, or she sleeps in his room and then he wakes up with her hugging him. Or she asked him out on a date to a hotel… but it wasn’t to have sex when he thought it was! And you can tell it was hilarious by how he screamed. More and more I think my time with this show would be better spent screencapping something else and just making something up. It probably couldn’t hurt at any rate.
Anyway, they weren’t even graceful enough to give the heavy melodrama a rest either, which had this episode lurching back and forth between tones violently enough to make you seasick. Not 3 minutes after Rita popped up, the sad pianos kicked in and Mashiro was taking a stand against going back to true art or whatever, then that was abruptly dropped again for the aforementioned ‘hilarious’ jokes and continuing to bounce back and forth before ending with everyone being awestruck and transported into an underwater dimension upon seeing one of Mashiro’s paintings. It reminds me of one of the bread-reaction jokes from Yakitate honestly, only JC Staff doesn’t have a trace of irony in them.
